Right before we moved from Philadelphia we took the opportunity for one last visit to Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University as part of our partnership with them. We were able to see the “larger than life” Dinosaurs Unearthed Exhibit and make quite a few new discoveries.
You can visit the Dinosaurs Unearthed Exhibit through January 16, 2017. Check out the video at the link, learn more from our favorite Mary Bailey, then buy YOUR tickets.
Dinosaurs had feathers? My kids were skeptical and I can already see that age old “grumpiness at change” we all have a tendency to hold toward new ideas and concepts.
The exhibit was very well done as the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University always is, with replicas of dinosaurs, facts, theories, and research displayed throughout the exhibit, and friendly informative staff everywhere we went.
We felt there were less interactive displays with this particular exhibit but the displays featuring different dinosaurs were cool and it was fun to come around corners and be “face to face” with these magnificent extinct creatures.
Of course we had to end the trip with a stop in the Dinosaur Hall where we always need to visit the Big Dig, hit the treadmill, and step into the picture with dinosaurs.
Did you know you can also visit the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University online exhibits? That’s one thing we will be doing as we miss the ability to visit whenever we want.
What IS the history of dinosaurs? No matter what your belief system is, this exhibit is an intriguing educational visit. One that I think is a great time for a family day out and discussion about what your family believes in regards to science theory and religious beliefs.
We’re not quite ready but it’s time to say so long to our favorite science museum, Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University in Philadelphia. As we embark on new adventures in New Hampshire, stay tuned because we’re going to give away a 4-pack of tickets so another family can enjoy the museum. We’ll say it isn’t goodbye though as we intend to stop in on visits to our favorite city.
